Winter Must Haves

Hey lovelies,

Winter is here and for us that means the darker shades of lipsticks and the lighter foundations come out of hiding. As the cold rainy weather sets in for us in Australia here is our guide to looking and feeling good to survive those colder months!

As the sudden change in weather sets in you want to make sure that you skin is taking care of. My skin does not cope with the sudden drop in temperature so to make sure my face remains nice and moisturised I switch to a heavier moisturiser and use the Sukin Night Cream on my face before going to bed. It ensures that there is no dryness on my face and it is left really smooth and hydrated.

As for the rest of my body I use the Vaseline total moisture aloe fresh 24hr nourishing lotion after I get out if the shower. I love the smell of this moisturiser and really fixes any dry areas of the body swell as being really light and easily absorbed into the skin.

Continuing the theme of moisturing i ensure I always have hand cream and a lip lam nearby as I just like to prevent my skin from drying out. I use the MOR hand cream in Lychee Flower- it smells amazing!!!! and leaves my hands feeling soft and smooth. I also carry with me a Chapstick as my lips can not handle the wind and get really chapped. My favourite Chapstick in the mix stix in lemon berry sorbet- tastes unbeliveable.

Now finally moving into makeup, I'm all for bold lips and simple eyes in winter. Purple lipstick is a bit of an obsession of mine this winter and i can tell that my lipsticks and lip glosses are going to be worked out. A couple of my favourite winter lip combinations are:

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Antwerp                     NYX Plum Lip Liner with NYX Butter lipstick in Hunk

NYX Buttergloss in Raspberry tart
To ensure that my lipsticks apply nicely Lush lip scrub in bubblegum is a lifesaver for exfoliating those lips to create a smooth flat canvas. The harsh wind really can chap your lips so i find this lip scrub to be great for fixing any dry areas- plus it tastes great!

To express winter a little bit more I love switching from the brought summer colours to the dark vampy colours for my nail polish. My favourite has been the OPI nail polish in the shade Miami Beet. Its a perfect dark plum colour to compliment my obsession with plum lips!

So thats it for some of our winter must haves! Remember to keep your skin moisturised and express those cold winter days with some dark bold lips!

'Jessup' Makeup Brushes Review

Hey Everyone!
So exams are finished and uni break has started which means i have finally gotten around to reviewing some new products i have bought!

So i finally got around to writing a review on my new- well newish makeup brushes. I recently gave in and bought the "jessup" brushes from ebay after seeing raved reviews on instagram as they are supposedly dupe brushes to sigma.

The ebay sellers name is lady_show_house and the brushes were called "12pcs Black Premium Synthetic Makeup Brush Set Cosmetics Foundation blending". You can purchase the set i bought here!! The set cost me $22.22 which for 12 brushes i think is great!

The set contains the 'same' brushes as the Sigma Essentials Kit- Mr. Bunny which retails for $155 which I was looking at getting, so my first thought was why not try these first!

My first impression of these brushes was wow these are soft! All 12 brushes are so amazingly soft with some denser then others. The set included from left to right in photo: - Large powder brush - Duo fibre brush
- Angled contour brush
- Foundation brush
- Blending brush
- Concealer brush
- Medium angled brush - Medium eye shading brush - Small eye shading brush - Pencil brush - Small angled brush - Eyeliner brush
All the brushes are synthetic with a wooden handle. I really like the way they look, the handle has a matte finish and they are really long which makes them very comfortable to hold. I washed my brushes prior to first use as they had a horrible plastic smell and to my surprise there was no shedding.

(Sorry for the dirty brushes in the photos! :P) Large powder brush This brush is one of the softest brushes. It is not as dense as I would of liked but is great for dusting on a translucent powder. This brush also took forever to dry after washing it compared to others but eventually dried to it's original shape I would use it with: powder, blush, bronzer

Duo Fibre Brush
I have never been a fan of duo fibre brushes as the brushes are not full and do not give me enough coverage but i decided to test it out by applying my foundation. It did end of giving me an okay coverage but took much longer then normal and this brush did shed a lot! It was the only brush that i had a problem with shedding and left brush hairs all over my face.
I would use it with: Foundation, Creme blushes

Angled Contour Brush
I really like this brush for contouring. Its the perfect shape to fit right into my cheekbone and blends it out really nicely to create a natural look
I would use it with: Contour, Blush

Foundation brush
Again i have never been a fan of foundation brushes to apply foundation as i find it just takes longer, but this brush would apply foundation nicely onto the skin as its really soft and dense.
I would use it with: Foundation, concealer

Concealer brush
This is a small dense concealer brush. I do find these applies product nicely to cover up blemishes but i would still use my finger to apply concealer under my eyes. The brush is really soft and works great to adding a bit of extra coverage around the nose area.
I would use it with: Concealer, and possibly to apply eyeshadow

Medium angled brush
This brush is very thin and not very dense. The only good thing about it being really thin as it can work product into the crease nicely and blend it out.
I would use it with: Applying eyeshadow to the crease, blending concealer under the eyes and nose.

Blending brush
This is a really big blending brush which is really soft. It is not a tapered blending brush so it is very difficult to just blend out the crease without messing up the surrounding area. The brush does work nicely if you are after blending out a whole smokey eye or blending concealer under the eye
I would use it with: Blending eyeshadow and concealer, applying highlighter to cheekbones.

Medium eye shading brush
A thick short brush that is quite dense. This brush does hold a lot of product in it when trying to transfer an eyeshadow to the eyelid but still does the job through a lot of patting the eyeshadow on. Its a great size to apply eyeshadow all over the lid.
I would use it with: Applying eyeshadow, highlighting brow bone.

Small eye shading brush
This is a great brush for applying eyeshadow to smaller areas. It a great versatile size that works in many areas. Picks up product nicely but still needs the patting motion to transfer eyeshadow.
I would use it with: Inner corner highlight, applying darker shades to outer v, brow bone, under the lower lash line, could also be used for concealer.

Pencil brush
A small dense tapered pencil brush. I really like this brush as its really small and works great for picking up shadow and defining the outer v. Great for adding small details to the eyes.
I would use it with: Defining the crease, inner corner highlight, lower lash line, outer v.

Small angled brush
The angled brush is really soft yet there dense bristles which is good as its easier to apply eye liner with a harder brush. It is a bit thick so it does create a thicker line if used for eyeliner but is great for filling in the brows
I would use it with: Eyeliner, my eyebrows.

Eyeliner brush
This is a small eyeliner brush but has a lot of bristles making it a bit too thick to apply eyeliner with. The brush i also got, the brush hairs are not straight and lean to one side. The brush hairs are very hard though so it would be able to create a straight winged eye.
I would use it with: Eyeliner.

Something that i find with all the brushes is that they pick up product really well but they do have a little bit of a problem transferring the product onto the face and a lot of the product just ends up in the brush. The brushes are defiantly a hit and miss for me, there are some brushes that i really like and some that i probably won't use. But for the cheap price and the amount of brushes you get i do generally like this brushes and would recommend these for a beginner in makeup that is looking to build up there makeup brush collection with a range of different brushes.

Hope this helps you all if you were interested in these brushes. Feel free to leave a comment with any questions on the brushes and ill be sure to answer you!

Till next time hope your all doing well,

Innoxa Australia Makeup Review

Hey guys!

I was lucky enough to kindly receive some goodies from Innoxa Australia today. I have heard excellent reviews on Innoxa products so was really happy when Innoxa got in contact with us to try some products out.

We received a:
- Lush Lash Mascara in Navy RRP $19.95
- Nude limited edition Lipglaze RRP $14.95
- Nude limited edition Lipstick RRP $14.95

Lush Lash Mascara in Navy:

I was so excited when i received this as I've never tried a different coloured mascara other then black. Its a great colour as its not bright blue but a dark navy blue which gives a really nice hint of colour for a wearable everyday look. My package also came with an info sheet explaining what the mascara does. The mascara is a conditioning and treatment mascara formulated to create volume, curl, definition whilst conditioning lashes. It claims eyelashes are increased 32% in 15 days and the volume of your eyelashes are increased up to 33%. Im really excited to try out this product and keep you guys posted on what it does to my eyelashes. I'm not to fond on the white packaging though. It definitely stands out amougst all my black mascaras but I can see this getting real dirty real soon.

Nude limited edition lip glaze:
This lipgloss has a subtle pink/peach undertone so its adds this beautiful hint of colour to the lips whilst adding shine, shimmer and gloss. It's not a heavy colour to wear and adds this really nice nude sheer colour to the lips. The lip glaze also smells great! It smells just like the nyx butter glosses do- like cake batter!

Nude limited edition lipstick:
Im always cautious when it comes to nude lip products as I'm so pale it can completly wash my lip out. This nude has a slight orange/brown undertone so it wouldn't be my first option for a nude lipstick but i can see this looking wonderful on someone with a darker complexion. This colour applys really creamy to the lips but there was some settling of the lipstick around some lines in my lips.

Nude Lipglaze on top of Lipstick

Overall I'm really impressed with these products! After trying them i think I'm going to have to purachse some more lip glazes as I'm loving the texture, colour and smell of them! Also might have to get the black version of this mascara as my lashes need all the help they can get when it comes to conditioning and treating!

Till next time,

May Favourites!

1. Mac Prolong Concealer in NC15: This concealer is am-ma-zing! Our first try of this we pumped one little pump onto the back of our hand only to realise that we could cover like 3 entire faces with the amount we got- a little goes a long way! It is so long wearing and i even find it difficult getting it of as it lasts forever and doesn't crease. The only thing i don't like is the packaging as it is really hard to get a tiny bit out and you end up wasting lots. But this has defiantly been a favourite this month!

2. Rimmel Translucent powder: As my skin hasn't been as bad as it has been I've been reaching for this translucent powder over my beloved Australis Fresh and Flawless powder to set my foundation. I feel its a little bit more lighter and it sets my foundation and under eye concealer amazingly! It makes me makeup last all day without looking cakey

3. NYX Soft matte lip cream in Antwerp: This has become an autumn favourite of mine. It is the most beautiful coral shade with a slight red colour. Been wearing it like crazy! Also the smell of these are so good- like vanilla cake batter.

4. Chaptick Mixstix in Lemon Berry Sorbet: I could just eat this stick it tastes amazing. I love the waxy formula as i find it lasts on my lips so much more as its nice and thick and moisturising on the lips. Its great how its double ended so you can mix it up but save space in your makeup bag.

5. Ibeauty Cosmetics eyeshadow palette: This was a custom made eyeshadow palette bought from here.  I have the shades from the top L-R: Polar, Barley There, Tickled Pink, Stardust. Bottom Row L-R: Coco, Black Widow, Dusk and Mischief. The eyeshadows are really pigmented and great to create a natural or smokey eye. The eyeshadows are only $3 each as well so i think there great! My purchase also came with 4 free mini samples as shown below but i can't remember the names of them- whoops!

6. Nude by Nature Kabuki Brush: I have had this brush for about 3 years and it is my go to brush for applying powder to face. Its so dense and creates a great flawless base. Its lasted through numerous washes and just applies and picks up product effortlessly.

7. Benefit Highbeam: So pigmented and gives the most amazing glow to the face. A little goes a long way so we just place three little dots on each cheek and blend it out. I also use this as an eyeshadow (yay for for multipurpose)!

8. Australis Lipliner in Tickled Pink: A really natural lipliner with a touch of pink! Great for a everyday look as i line my lips and blend it in creating the illusion my lips are a touch bigger. I do wish it was a little more creamy though as it has a very waxy formula but i just love the colour it gives to my lips.

Hope you enjoyed our May Favourites! What products have you been loving this month?
