Q&A #2

Hey guys!!

So I asked for questions on my Instagram ages ago and completly forgot to post this!! So here are some questions that you guys asked!

@makeupevie asks: What's your favourite eyebrow product and what are your thoughts on Browz it by  Australis?

I have a couple of favourite eyebrow products! My top three would have to be the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Dark Brown, the NYX Brow Kit in Dark Brown and the Makeupgeek eyeshadows in Mocha and Corrupt mixed!

As for the Australis Browz it, I think it's a great brow kit that would be perfect for travelling and the product itself are great, however for me the shades are a tad to warm and red for me so it would be perfect for a person with warmer hair!

@saidahintan asks: Which one do you think is the best: MAC Prolong wear, Maybelline Fit Me or LA girl concealer?

Ooo tough question! It would depend on the occasion. I reach for the LA girl concealer on a daily basis as it's such high coverage and soo adorable so I don't feel bad wasting it! When I go out at night or want a full coverage base then I would reach for my MAC prolong wear as it's amazing!

@chasteandbeautiful asks: What is your favourite face primer? Tell me both high end and drugstore

I really like the Loreal Skin Perfector Pore filler! It's a great dupe for the Porefessional by benefit as it really smooths out my pores and skin! As for high end Laura Mercier Mineral Primer (if that is considered high end) it has a cream to powder finish so works great at creating a matte base!

@stellahonor_ asks: Have you got youtube?

I don't!! I've been considering making one though if you guys want to see one! :P

@bloggingboutbeauty asks: Favourite high end product and why?

I can't go past the MAC Lipsticks! I love the colours I have, the formulas, the packaging! They are the high end products I love to 'collect'!!

@insidemakeupbeauty asks: Which do you prefer MUFE HD Foundation or the Gerogio Armani Silk Foundation?

I haven't tried either so I am no hope in giving advice! Haha! I've heard the MUFE HD foundation is amazing and really full coverage and the Gerogio Armani can be a hit or miss for some. I'd recommend getting a sample of each before you buy one.

@xella_finlayx asks: Favourite high end and low end brand?

Favourite high end is MAC as I'm obsessed with their lipsticks are concealer! And my favourite low end brand would probably be Rimmel! They have a great range on products that I love including Foundations, Primers, Lipsticks, Nail polishes and Mascaras!

@libby_miller_xx asks: What inspired you to enjoy makeup?

I have always just enjoyed playing with makeup and watching youtube videos about makeup! I would say that youtube was probably a major influence as to how I become addicted to makeup and now its become my hobby and I absolutely love and enjoy it!

@ornellalikesfood asks: Favourite lippie? I love the Vaseline lip therapy in cocoa butter!

My favourite lipstick would probably have to be MACs Brave Lipstick! Its seriously just my go to lipstick that is the perfect my lips but better shade!

Mystery Mascara Review: Makeupsocial!

Hey Guys!!

So todays blog post i had so much fun creating for you guys! So if you didn't know 'makeupsocial' is a fun new social network where people can share and review products for everyone.

They recently held a 'Mystery Mascara' review where you can sign up to review one of 450 mystery mascaras to win a makeup prize pack. So without further ado, lets get on with my review of the mystery mascara!!

The packaging of the mascara is in a plain black tube with a silver cap and no writing on it at all which doesn't give any clues to what brand it comes from.

My first impression of the mascara was good as i really like wands that are plastic. I feel that the stiffness of plastic wands really helps to curl my lashes and push them upwards as my lashes grow downwards. The colour of the mascara i would say is not black but a dark grey colour which definitely makes it look more natural on your lashes compared to a dark black colour.

The wand contains short close together bristles and larger further apart bristles on the other side.

Here is my eyelashes all natural!

Without mascara
I then curled my lashes preparing them for the mascara.

Without mascara but curled lashes
After curling my lashes i applied my coat of mascara to my eyelashes and WOWWW! SO IMPRESSED! It really separated my lashes with ZERO clumping and really intensified the curl pushing them upwards. The mascara itself was quite dry which was the standout for me as the stiffness of the brush and dryness of the mascara really allowed you to pile on the mascara with it not getting all over the place!

I was expecting the mascara to be a dark grey colour from looking at the colour on the wand but it made my lashes pretty black which was pleasantly surprising!!

I then applied a second coat to my top lashes and a single coat to my bottom lashes. What ever this mystery mascara is I am beyond excited to find out what it is because I'm love with the result of my lashes! I don't think I've found a mascara yet that has been able to really separate my lashes and make them look this long!

With 2 coats of mascara

After trying to figure out what brand it is my guess is that it's the new Benefit mascara- roller mascara, or maybe a maybelline mascara! I do feel like the quality of this mascara is quite high end though as some of my higher end mascaras don't even give my stubborn downward growing lashes this kind of curl.

The mystery mascara will be released in April so I'm definitely looking forward to finding out the brand and name of this mascara as i would definitely be repurchasing this mascara.

Keep your eyes peeled on this blog post along with our instagram page if your just as curious to find out what mascara it is as ill let you know as soon as i find out!

UPDATE: IT HAS BEEN CONFORMED THAT IT IS THE BENEFIT ROLLAR LASH MASCARA!

January Favourites!

Hey everyone!
Hope you are all fantastic and 2015 is bringing you all happiness!

This year is already flying by and January went way to quickly but we did find some new products that we have been absolutely loving, so here are our January Favourites!

1. MAC Painterly Paint Pot: My new obsession and eye shadow primer! The perfect match to my skin tone and it applies so smoothly and creamy to the eye making your eyeshadow last so much longer and intensifying the shadows!

2. Makeupgeek Palette: Possibly my most favourite makeup item in my whole collection. Absolutely obsessed with it and will reach for it everyday whether it be for a blush shade, highlighter, simple or dramatic eye look or even to contour. I love the shades i picked as they are all very neutral and can be used for a simple or dramatic look- best palette ever!

3. MAC Lipstick in 'Faux': The perfect everyday nude/peachy colour with almost a hint of brown in it, its just amazing! Kind of similar to Brave by MAC but much more browny peachy. This lipstick paired with Spice Lipliner has been my go to lip look.

4. Loreal True Match Concealer: Has a medium coverage and works amazing under the eyes. Been pairing this with my True Match Foundation and have loved the way my skin has been looking!

5. Loreal Telescopic Mascara: This mascara is amazing!! The brush is so small and weird looking but its separates your lashes insanely and coats them all so evenly. Perfect for top and bottom lashes and makes them look amazing!!

6. Real Techniques Sculpting Brush: I had no idea this brush even existed until i visited the states.. but OMG can we just take a second… The density of this brush is almost similar to the Expert Face brush but this has a slanted edge that fits perfectly into the hollows of your cheeks. It just takes such little effort with this brush to get the perfect cream or powder contour. So happy that i found this brush!

7. Wet 'n' Wild Waking on Eggshells palette: Also picked this up when i was in the states after hearing so many raved reviews about it… and yes it is amazing- pigmented, creamy, shimmery and for like $3.. enough said.

8. Vaseline Lip Therapy in Cocoa Butter: This stuff has serially changed my lips. I went through a period where they were so dry and chapped and nothing fixed them until this. Made my lips so smooth and hydrated.. soo impressed!

Hope you guys enjoyed our January Favourites! What products have you been loving this month!

Updated Skincare Routune! Ft. Jurlique, Olay

Hey guys!!!

Today we're doing an updated skincare routine featuring some products we kindly received from Jurlique to try out along with some tips and tricks to getting your skin clear!

These are the products that I use morning and night to:
1. Cleanse
2. Tone
3. Treat
4. Moisturise

I have found that by using these products morning and night consistently I have seen improvements in my skin!

I always like to try new skincare products for 3 to 4 weeks before I review them, and as I've been using these products for that amount of time I feel I can share my thoughts on this routine and these products.

The first thing I do before I start my skin care routine or get into the shower is use my Garnier Micellar Water to remove all of my make up. I absolutely love this stuff as it removes my base, eye makeup and lipstick. I feel it is important to remove your makeup before cleansing your skin as using your cleanser as a makeup remover will not allow it to deeply cleanse your skin only remove the makeup.

After I have removed my make up i then use my Jurlique Clarifying Deep Cleansing Gel in the shower and this gel has seriously changed my skin! It has a gel/mousey consistency with tiny little natural microbeads in it for exfoliation. The microbeads are very fine though so the exfoliation is not harsh which makes it  suitable to use daily. Since using this my skin is now smoother and clearer along with my pores being decreased in size and are less noticeable

Once I'm out of the shower I take my Witch Hazel Toner with a cotton pad and wipe that all over my face to close my pores. This is an important step that a lot of people miss. Toner is important as cleanser opens your pores to clean them and the toner closes the pores and tightens them to prevent any more dirt or bacteria going back in them. Missing toner can defeat the whole purpose of cleaning as you are leaving the pores open.

After toner I then take a small pump of the Jurlique Herbal recovery advanced serum and pat that all over my skin, neck and declatage. This is to treat my skin as the product is an anti ageing serum and contains over 18 botanical extracts, vitamins and essential fatty acids. Think of this step as food for your skin, you want to put the good stuff back into it.

I then finish up my skin care routine by taking the Olay Long Live Satin Finish Moisturiser all over my face and neck. I find it so important to mositurise your skin morning and night to keep it hydrated, soft and smooth along with providing the moisture it needs after cleansing and removing any unwanted oils.

Hope you guys enjoyed todays post and found it helpful! If you have any questions just leave them below!
